Samsung Electronics announces Exynos 1080 in mid-November

Samsung Electronics will hold an offline conference in Shanghai, China on November 12th. It revealed a teaser on Chinese social media Weibo and announced that it would release a new chipset, Exynos 1080.

It is not yet known what kind of performance Exynos 1080 has and whether it supports 5G, but according to reports, it is regarded as the successor of the Exynos 980, a mid-range model supporting the Cortex-A78 as a CPU and the Mali-G78 as a GPU. It is a chipset installed in the lineup such as the Galaxy A series, not the flagship like the Galaxy S series.

Cortex-A78 is manufactured with 5nm manufacturing process as well as A14 Bionic installed in iPhone 12, and it is said to be mid-range, but high performance is expected. In fact, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and 865+ scores of 690,000 units were also found in the Antutu benchmark. Of course, it is not known whether it is real, but the mid-range model coming out in 2021 is also likely to have higher-end performance this year. Related information can be found here .
