Shiny seat belt buckle, why?

Founded in 1895, Czech car maker ŠKODA acquired a world patent for a shiny seat belt buckle. To solve the problem of confusion about where the buckle is between the rear seats and which seat is, with a shiny buckle.

This system is designed to spread the LED light inside by using transparent plastic on the button part. A weight sensor is built into the seat, so it glows red when a person sits first, turns green when a belt is connected, and glows white when safety is confirmed. The color changes according to the state.

The point of Skoda’s patent is that the belt condition can be checked by changing the light color like this. It’s a small idea, but it can provide passengers with a stress-relieving riding experience. Related information can be found here .
