Samsung Electronics announced the HDR10+Adaptive, a function that enhances the TV viewing experience regardless of lighting conditions.
HDR is a display technology that can express a wider contrast than before. It has been adopted in products in various fields from photography to video. However, most of the video content assumes viewing in an environment where the indoor lighting is slightly off, and there are many cases where sufficient effects cannot be obtained in a bright room.
HDR10+ Adaptive, which is an extension of the latest HDR standard, HDR10+, detects the brightness of the room with an optical sensor installed on the TV, and automatically adjusts the image brightness according to the lighting conditions, allowing content to be played in the intended expression without being affected by lighting conditions. .
HDR10+ Adaptive is supported through QLED TV products that Samsung Electronics will release in the future. In addition, all HDR content in Amazon Prime Video supports HDR10+, so you can use this feature. It is not yet known whether HDR10+ Adaptive will be available on other TVs.
