Asus gaming phone with 18GB LPDDR5

ROG Phone 5 is a gaming smartphone equipped with Snapdragon 888 5G, a high-end SoC released by Asus on March 10 (local time). The top model, ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, was the first in the world with 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

This product is the successor to the ROG Phone 3 that appeared in August 2020. The reason there is no 4 is because 4 is a number avoided in Greater China. The performance is game-specific and, as previously stated, it is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest high-end SoC, Snapdragon 888 5G. The battery capacity reaches 6,000mAh, plus two 3,000mAh batteries.

Not only that, but the top model is equipped with a mini-display that displays animations on the back. Animations are customizable and can display special animations, such as when a call arrives or when a game is started.

The main display is equipped with a Samsung Electronics 6.78-inch AMOLED display that supports a resolution of 2448 × 1080, and its body size is 77 × 173 × 9.9 mm, weight is 239 g, refresh rate is 144 Hz, and touch sampling rate is 300 Hz.

On the back, an external cooling system, AeroActive Cooler 5, adds airflow to lower the surface temperature around the CPU by up to 15 degrees, and two physical buttons can be added. In addition, it can be used for a long time by charging for a short time in response to 65W rapid charging.

In addition to the display, there are two large 12×16mm speakers on the front and a 3.5mm earphone jack. In addition, it supports AirTrigger 5, which functions as a shortcut, and can be touched or held by mounting an ultrasonic touch sensor on the side. In addition to Wi-Fi 6E support, it also has a function that automatically connects to Wi-Fi and mobile networks using multiple antennas for optimal connection.

There are three models, ROG Phone 5, Pro, and Ultimate. As for memory and storage space, ROG Phone 5 offers 8, 128GB, 12, 256GB, 16, 256GB options, 16, 512GB for Pro, and 18, 512GB for Ultimate.
