Pizza company Domino’s Pizza has announced that robotic vehicles will begin shipping this week in parts of Houston, USA.
The plan was announced in June 2019, two years ago. Until now, it has been a hot topic to deliver groceries and other robots, but it is the level of walking like a pedestrian with a small robot. In contrast, the Neuro R2, which Domino’s Pizza uses for delivery, is the first fully autonomous delivery vehicle to be approved by regulatory authorities such as the US Department of Transportation.
Residents of the target area can use this robotic vehicle delivery when ordering pizza on the store’s website and prepaid orders on the website. Perhaps because of the dispatch, the time when you can request delivery to R2 is limited.
A password to receive the ordered product is sent via text message to the ordered customer with R2 delivery, and can wait for arrival while watching the arrival of R2 through GPS tracking information displayed on the order confirmation page. When the robot vehicle arrives, enter the password on the touch screen on the door and the hatch opens and you can receive pizza.
Domino’s Pizza is pleased to start testing autonomous delivery with Neuro in Houston and innovating the customer delivery experience. He explained that it was an opportunity to better understand his back. They look forward to how traditional delivery methods and autonomous delivery will work together and better support customer needs.
Neuros, a supplier of robotic vehicles, said its mission is to use robotic technology to improve daily life. He added that it is pleased to introduce autonomous delivery robots to Houston customers by launching the first autonomous delivery delivery through a joint venture between R2 and Domino’s Pizza. .
