Kalk AP is an EV bike powered by solar panels for rangers that protect animals from African poachers, introduced by Swedish Cake. It is easy and fast to move in and out of nature, and it supports eco-friendly and infinite solar energy, so you can quietly track poachers.
If 10 Ranger units were to move on a bike, they would need 22,000 liters of gasoline per year. To transport by helicopter, the fuel economy is doubled, and the sound of motorcycle engines makes animals fear, so the poaching force may sneak away 45 minutes before the arrival of the laser. Electric bikes can solve this problem.
Cake has previously introduced a cargo bike with a high degree of freedom as an optional part. This time, through joint production with a South African university that fosters lasers, the Kalk AP, which is an improved bike, was introduced. For reference, the solar panel was provided by GOALZERO, and this generator can be moved through wheels.

It weighs 80kg and uses a 2.6kWh rechargeable battery, and the speed limit and torque change depending on the mode such as the search mode, and it can run continuously for 1 to 4 hours. It is also equipped with regenerative brakes, a top speed of 90km/h, and an 11kW motor designed to work well even when submerged so that it can withstand the hot savanna climate.
Limited edition 50 of these motorcycles were made, and when purchased, one bike and a solar generator are donated to the university. What can help rangers to protect endangered animals through this. It is said that Kalk AP will be used as part of university classes and education from the second half of this year. Related information can be found here.
