A quarter of mobile products in 2020 will be purchased online…

According to market research firm Counterpoint Technology Market Research, 26% of mobile device sales in the global market in 2020 were purchased online.

Of course, this figure can be said to have greatly affected the change in purchasing activity due to the epidemic caused by the COVID-19 infection. According to a Counterpoint survey, the highest percentage of online purchases was in India at 45%, followed by the UK at 39% and China at 34%. In the second half of 2020, India hit an all-time high of 48%, but dropped the percentage to 33% in China, where the COVID-19 pandemic quickly subsided.

In 2021, the percentage is expected to be the same or slightly lower than in 2020. However, Counterpoint expects to increase slightly every year after 2022 as emerging markets grow and the middle-aged become more accustomed to using IT devices and the Internet. In addition, India, which currently has a high ratio of online purchases, is likely to decrease to a certain percentage after 2022 through the development of multi-brand stores and large retail stores that handle multiple makers. I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
