Google has started distributing Chrome OS version 92, a new version of ChromeOS used in Chromebooks, etc.
The biggest theme of Chrome OS version 92 is the eSIM response. Instead of a physical SIM, the eSIM, which records carrier information on the device’s embedded chip, allows for flexible contract company switching. It also frees up physical constraints and makes it easier to integrate into devices.
Since Chrome OS is mainly installed in both Chromebook and tablet models, eSIM support benefits are also great. In terms of products, it is expected that the number of Chromebook products that respond to eSIM will increase in the future.
Another feature of Chrome OS version 92 is that Google Meet, a video chat tool, is installed from the beginning. Amid the growing demand for video chat tools through remote work and online learning, it can be said that the pre-installation of Google Meet is a natural flow. According to Google, it has improved the performance tuning function when communicating and sharing screens even under different network conditions.

It also displays search and launcher, shift and space shortcuts and a small emoji keyboard. Explorer apps include digital magazines and children’s education apps.

Although version 92 is reached, Google plans to update Chrome OS frequently from the second half of this year and advance the cycle to 4 weeks. In addition to improving security, it is expected that new convenience functions will be added. Related information can be found here.
