YouTube announced that the number of creators participating in the YouTube Partner Program, which can generate and receive revenue through channels, has exceeded 2 million. In the second quarter of 2021, advertising revenue is expected to exceed $7 billion, with payments to creators reaching $30 billion over the past three years.
According to YouTube, the number of jobs created by the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) in 2019 is equivalent to 345,000 full-time jobs. Advertising revenue was more than $7 billion in the second quarter of 2021 alone, and the amount paid to creators participating in the program was $30 billion over the past three years.
In addition, in the United States, the number of channels earning more than 100 million won increased by 35% compared to the previous year, and the number of channels participating in the program itself due to system improvement and improved advertiser credit is also doubling compared to the previous year. People who are trying to generate revenue by posting illegal content around revenue generating programs are also being raised, but according to YouTube, the viewing rate for violations as of the fourth quarter of 2020 is 0.16 to 0.18%, and the viewing opportunity is 16 to 18 out of 10,000.
There are 10 ways to generate YPP revenue, including advertising. For example, YouTube Premium paid more than 4.3 trillion won to the music industry for one year from 2020 to 2021. YouTube continues to do a responsible job as it grows its partner program, saying these investments are key to the future success of the entire creator economy. Related information can be found here.
