“No Blind Spots” Rear Radar for Bikes

The Varia RVR315 and RTL515 are rear radar and tail lights for bicycles from Garmin, known for their smartwatches.

This product detects the approach of a rear vehicle up to 140m and displays it on a small display Edge series installed near the steering wheel or a smartphone running a dedicated app. As Garmin also produces GPS for navigation and bicycles, it can be said that this product is compatible with the existing series.

The RVR315 can be used continuously for 7 hours on a full charge. The RTL515 also has a battery life of 16 hours. This product supports three modes, such as tail light and always on and flashing, and battery life varies slightly accordingly. In flashing mode, it is 16 hours, but the constant light is reduced to 6 hours.

These two products usually emit a green band just by installing the radar and rotating it on the seat post, but when it detects a vehicle approaching from the rear, it changes to yellow or red, and informs you with sound and vibration. Some bikes these days have small rearview mirrors on the steering wheel or helmet, but technology makes it much safer to ride. The RVR315 is priced at $149.99 and the RTL515 is priced at $199.99.

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
