Parallels Desktop 17.1 “MacOS Monterrey Fully Supported”

Parallels Desktop 17.1 for Mac, a popular application that virtualizes and runs various operating systems on Mac, has fully unveiled macOS Monterey. In addition, this update is said to improve stability by introducing a virtual TPM (Trusted Platform Module) to all future Windows 11 virtual machines.

Parallels Desktop is a popular virtualization software for running Windows apps on Mac. Windows 10 for Intel chips could not be installed on the M1 Mac adopting the ARM architecture, but instead, the ARM version of Windows 10 was supported. Also, at the time of Windows 11 beta, a virtual TPM was prepared and operated, but this time, it responds to the regular version released on the 5th.

With this update, copying and pasting between virtual machines such as Windows 11 and Mac OS is now possible. In addition, game graphics such as World of Warcraft, Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition, Tomb Raider 3, and Metal Gear Solid V have been improved in response to user needs. In addition, when running a Linux virtual machine, it is said that 3D acceleration is possible by supporting VirGL.

However, Microsoft replied that support for Windows 11 operation on the M1 Mac is not expected. If a problem occurs after installing the M1 Mac and Parallels Desktop combination, Microsoft does not guarantee it and you have no choice but to appeal to Parallels.

Parallels Desktop 17.1 is available free of charge to users who have purchased the previous version 17. Related information can be found here.
