Facebook offers a way to monetize subscriptions with zero fees

Apple’s App Store and Google Play have been criticized for excessive service fees. To avoid limiting creator revenue by these fees, Facebook announced that as of November 4, 2021, it will zero subscription fees and provide a way to increase creator revenue.

One way to provide Facebook is to provide creators with a custom web link that allows their fans to pay for their subscriptions with Facebook Pay. If they sign up for a subscription this way, the creator gets all the revenue minus taxes. On the other hand, if a fan signs up for a subscription on the Apple platform rather than a custom web link, a 15-30% fee will be collected continuously. In addition, the zero fee policy is expected to continue until at least 2023, and is currently being deployed in 27 regions around the world.

On the creator studio management screen, a tool for Facebook creators, a promotional link appears in the tool section. Apple’s guidelines for developers prohibit enticing users to make any purchases other than in-app billing. However, a Facebook official said that in the case of the new Facebook tool, providing a payment option does not violate the policy because it applies to creators using the service, not Facebook or app developers.

In a Facebook post, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a Facebook post that building the metaverse is focused on opening up opportunities for creators to earn money from their work. He said that it would allow him to generate a lot of revenue.

Facebook is also announcing other programs to strengthen its creator monetization tools. For example, a bonus program that allows creators to earn between $5 and $20 each time they acquire a new audience, from November 3, 2021 to the end of the year, regardless of whether in-app billing is a subscription or Facebook Pay is used. to carry out Facebook is announcing a program to allocate $1 billion to creators in July 2021, which is also considered part of the program. It will also provide creators with many tools for managing their audience, such as the ability to download new subscriber email addresses. Related information can be found here.
