A team collaboration tool that talks in short videos

ThreadIt is a team collaboration tool announced by Area 120, Google’s in-house startup incubator. It was inspired by the fact that people around the world are in need of remote work due to COVID-19.

Threadit uses two forms of browser-accessible services and Chrome plugins. Users can record short video messages, which can be said to be in the middle of long live video conferences, short texts, or emails. It is also simple to use. All you have to do is record what you are talking about and send the video to a colleague of your choice.

This application interface refers to the main features of other Google products. For example, the recipient will not only see a drop-down menu to decide how the video will be run, but can also add their own clips. This application allows you to view short videos by threading them in chronological order. It is said that the development team has also developed Threadit without ever actually meeting.

The idea of Threadit is that it emphasizes the point of a short message by dividing the video by adding a simple structure so that it is displayed short enough to eat in one bite. Of course, this project is in public beta mode from March 18 (local time) according to Area 120 convention. It’s still in an early stage.

The service is currently accessible via the mobile Chrome browser on smartphones, but a standalone application may also be required in the future. Related information can be found here.
