Advertisers choose news… Facebook unveils new features

Meta announced the introduction of new configurable controls for the news feed. New features allow you to adjust the volume of your news feed or change advertisers not to show ads on topics like news and politics.

The meta is testing new ways to introduce new newsfeed controls, adjust user ranking settings, and personalize newsfeeds. As part of this, the amount of displayed content has been changed so that it can be increased or decreased in the news feed settings.

Other changes, he says, have been made to make it easier to access existing tasks, such as bookmarking and unfollowing. These changes will begin testing with a small number of users and will gradually expand over the next few weeks.

Newsfeed control will also be introduced for business use. Advertisers can choose which topics to exclude from the content they advertise. The subject topics are news and politics, social issues, and crime and tragic events. If you choose to exclude one of these topics, your ads will no longer be delivered to users who have accessed these topics.

However, it is not that it is not displayed 100%, but the meta reports that in the initial test, news and politics could be avoided with a 94% chance, social problems 95%, and crime and disastrous events with a 99% probability.

Meta said it started controlling the news feed for businesses in 2022 and will provide updates from the first quarter. Mehta also added that as this initiative evolves, it will work with the industry to share its progress, adding that it aims to design in line with the Global Alliance for Responsible Media.
