UN Women announced on September 18 (local time) that they will use block-chain technology for cash settlement at Jordan refugee camps. The way of trading without going through a third party such as a bank started to be used for UN activities.
The United Nations Women’s Organization uses the block chain technology in Za’atari and Azraq camps and has more than 115,000 refugees. So far, refugees have received cash on a fixed date every month. But with the block chain, the UN World Food Program WFP (World Food Program) will be able to receive the contracted cash or use it directly for shopping. You can also secure transparency of security or fund execution by scanning your eyes and recording transactions in a block chain.
The United Nations is using block-chain technology to provide humanitarian assistance. Last November, they announced that they would use block-chain technology to combat human trafficking in cooperation with a private organization, the World Identity Network. The UN General Assembly in September will also discuss the use of block chains for a better society. For more information, please click here .
