2021 Inflight Internet 5G …

Gogo, a US company that provides in-flight Internet services, announced that it will provide business services and commercial services in 2021 to provide 5G in-flight communications services. Target areas are the US and Canada.

The GoGo 5G in-flight service utilizes the existing 250 base stations installed on the ground. The communication band provides the 5G service through the ATG method in which the aircraft receives radio waves from the base station using the 2.4 GHz band. Of course, 3G and 4G communication services will continue to be provided.

ATG-based intra-cabin communication services including the high-end intra-flight Internet are being introduced mainly in North America. This is why the service area has become the United States and Canada. Oakleigh Thorne, CEO of Gogo said, “We plan to introduce in-flight 5G communication services at the same time that ground carriers are deploying 5G services.” If you travel to the United States, you may get 5G benefits. I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
