Uber, helicopter taxi service starts

Uber Elevate, Uber’s taxi driver of the vehicle sharing service, will start Uber Copter, a helicopter transportation business that links the southern ends of Manhattan, New York and JFK International Airport, on July 9.

Users can make reservations for 5 days in advance through the Über App. An automobile usually takes an hour, but with this service, an eight minute flight time from the airport is sufficient. However, this service is limited to Platinum and Diamond members of Uber users.

The average price is $ 200-225. The service runs 5 days a week from Monday to Friday, matching the afternoon rush hour. The passengers are five passengers except for two pilots. Since there is no cargo space in the helicopter to be used, carry-on is limited to 18kg or less per bag.

In fact, Uber is not the first to launch a helicopter service to and from JFK Airport and Manhattan. The startup, called Blade Urban Air Mobility, began offering Blade Airport, which provides helicopter services to three nearby airports in Manhattan, for $ 195 a day, six days a week.

According to Uber’s test flight documents, the two groups of passengers on April 11 were reportedly back and forth from Manhattan to JFK Airport. For more information, please click here .
