At the end of June, Europe broke the record for high temperatures due to the effects of high pressure. From Thursday to Friday at the end of June, the highest temperature in June was observed in at least five countries, and in France, the highest temperature ever observed at a meteorological station was recorded in decades.
It was the result of a fierce heat attack in Western Europe as the high pressure was pressed for a week and the sunny weather continued, and hot air flowed in from Africa. There has also been research showing that heatwaves have occurred as a part of climate change, and the effects of rapid warming in the Arctic are taking place in climate patterns that seem to be facing Europe.
Due to this heat wave, the record for the highest temperature in June was recorded in Andorra, Luxembourg, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany in late June. Excluding 36.8 degrees in Luxembourg, the remaining four recorded more than 37.8 degrees in at least one. In Germany, due to the high temperature, the autobahn was also limited in deceleration due to the fear of distorting the road. In Spain, animal waste was caught on fire and spread to wildfires.
France also hit the highest temperature in June on Thursday, but on Friday it hit even more heat. On Friday afternoon local time, it hit a whopping 45.9 degrees in a small town (Gallargues-le-Montueux) in southern France. It is said that this is the first time that France has observed more than 45 degrees. Measuring 45 degrees Celsius from several observatories revealed that the highest temperature so far, hitting 44.1 degrees Celsius in 2003 at at least 12 locations on this day, was broken.

Meteorologists review the data and the entire station record, and it may take several months for the new record to be officially verified. However, it is clear that this heat wave has been fierce throughout France and Europe. Usually, the peak of the heat is from the end of July to the beginning of August, but these days the heat starts to heat up from early summer. Related information can be found here .
