Not long ago, Microsoft cleared all posts on the Windows Instagram account and posted a video of Windows 1.0, which attracted attention. I posted this video on Twitter, and many of the consumers who saw it were a little embarrassed.
Windows 1.0 was released by Microsoft in 1983 and released on November 20, 1985, and is the ancestor of Windows. Back then, it had to be run in MS-DOS as a console environment. The memory usage limit was limited to 640KB because the 80286, which was the mainstream CPU at the time, was not supported. Of course, the evaluation after launch was not good.

In the released video, the Windows logo is displayed gradually from the present to the previous version, and the first Windows logo is finally released. The post also included a promotional phrase “Introducing the all-new Windows 1.0, with MS-Dos Executive, Clock, and more!”.
Microsoft also converted all icons in various social media accounts to the Windows 1.0 logo. Some of them were suspicious of hacking, but Microsoft denied it. Then, why did Microsoft widely promote Windows 1.0, which is now a black history? Windows 1.0 marks its 34th anniversary this year.
Of course, it is estimated that the stage of the popular drama Strange Things Season 3 (Stranger Things), which was shown on Netflix on July 4th, was in 1985, so it is a promotion that is riding on this. Microsoft hasn’t revealed what this post means.
