Nintendo has announced the Nintendo Switch Lite, a low-cost switch. The price of this product, which is scheduled to be released on September 20, is around 210,000 won.
This product is a controller-integrated model that eliminates Joy-Con, a separate controller that can be said to be the center of the switch. It is equipped with a 5.5-inch touch screen in a small and light body. As it is a portable product, TV playback function is omitted from this product. The charging terminal has the same USB Type C as the switch, but even if it is inserted into the stand provided by the switch, the TV mode cannot be used. Also, the left controller’s cross-shaped button has been changed to a cross key. It does not provide the motion IR camera and HD vibration function installed in JoyCon.
With Switch Light, you can enjoy all games that support portable mode. However, you cannot play games that require TV mode. To play a game that requires a Joy-Con in table mode games, you need to purchase a Joy-Con or Joy-Con charging grip separately. Of course, you can also use the Joy-Con provided to the existing switch.
The switch light has a 5.5-inch screen, which is smaller than the 6.2-inch screen of the existing switch. The screen resolution is 1280×720, which is the same as the switch. It weighs 275g and is more than 100g lighter than the 398g switch. The size is 91.1✕208✕13.9mm, which is smaller than the Switch and slightly larger than the Sony PSP. The battery life is 3-7 hours.
