Volocopter conducted a linkage test with the air traffic control system using the 2-seater multicopter, the Volocopter 2X, at Helsinki International Airport, Finland, to prove that it can properly communicate with the automatic air traffic management system. I said I did.
Velocopter recently announced its commercial drone taxi, VoloCity. However, in order to actually launch a commercial flight, it is necessary not only to integrate air traffic management system but also to build take-off and landing infrastructure. The infrastructure side can be built with funds. However, system integration should actually prove by testing that the aircraft has this capability. This test uses the prototype 2X, but it can be said that the velocopter has shown that this connection is possible.
Velocopter became one of the first companies to show that it is possible to link air traffic control systems. Likewise, however, there are already more than 70 companies and organizations developing drone taxis worldwide. Uber is also making significant investments. Related information can be found here .
