95% of cryptocurrency crimes are related to Bitcoin. In an interview, Jonathan Levin, co-founder of Chainalysis, said:
Chainnallysys has a reputation for tracking illegal transactions on the blockchain. It provides analysis software KYT (Know Your Transaction) to companies, governments, and law enforcement agencies to help money laundering and terrorist fund prevention. Levin said bitcoin is by far the most popular with criminals, and that criminals need to respond to the darknet in a more sophisticated way. It also warned that there is a movement to raise funds for terrorism in the cryptocurrency industry.
He said that cryptocurrency is highly transparent and can prove crime faster than traditional financing methods without having to rely on collecting overseas bank records. In addition, in early April, the Canadian cryptocurrency exchange Quadriga CX announced the bankruptcy. After the founder’s sudden death, 115,000 estimated customers continue to be inaccessible to cryptocurrency worth $198.6 million. Levin pointed out that the exchange was in fact operating with only a portion of the deposit, and that there was a problem.
Meanwhile, Chainnallysys recently announced that it has expanded to 10 types of cryptocurrency targets that monitor transactions in real time. Related information can be found here .
