Joseph Rubin, co-founder of cryptocurrency Ethereum, said that Ethereum will expand 1,000 times within a year and a half to two years after Ethereum 2.0, which is currently being developed.
Rubin explained that Ethereum 2.0 Serenity is an ecosystem that can expect dramatic scalability, and that the development is divided into four stages, and that eight groups are already working on the development of new blockchain clients. Serenity is the final update of Ethereum 2.0, which adopts PoS as a consensus algorithm.
Rubin also said that a fully operational test network will be completed in just a few months, and the fully operational Ethereum 2.0 stage will be completed by the end of the year. Rubin said there are a number of ways to link the old chain with the new token, and that the Ethereum token will be able to transition from the old blockchain to the new one. He added that a mechanism that can be switched in both directions can also be considered.
Rubin said that he has thoroughly researched PoS feasibility before implementation, even regarding PoS concerns. It also revealed that the ability to add to the new chain is compatible with more use cases, taking a dedicated transaction as an example.
