Like an aperture… Circle perfectly

Iris is a tool that allows you to accurately draw a circle using a structure that looks like a camera aperture. Usually, when you try to circle a piece of paper with a compass, you have to stick a pointed needle through the paper. However, the iris allows you to accurately draw a circle with a pencil through an aperture-like structure. It looks simple and takes a sophisticated form.

Iris has a structure in which a plate like 20 thin apertures is inserted into a thin ring. Moving the ring counterclockwise with your finger pushes the diaphragm blades and narrows the center hole. Conversely, turning it clockwise widens the hole. If you expand the hole to the size you want, you can place it on a piece of paper and draw a circle around the edge with a pencil.

The ring has a scale of up to 7cm, and thanks to this, it is possible to draw a circle from 2mm to 70mm in diameter. You can also measure the diameter of a circle you have already drawn. The ring is made of brass. The aperture blades are resistant to graphite and ink, so you can easily use a pencil or fountain pen.

After raising funds through Kickstarter, a crowdfunding site, this product also raised money that exceeded the target amount in Indigo. Related information can be found here .
