Japanese drone taxi on its first test flight

NEC built a prototype of a drone taxi, Flying Car, and set out on its first test flight. The NEC has announced that it will build the infrastructure for traffic control, control, and management necessary for the mobile revolution. On August 5th, the drone taxi prototype was unveiled and the first injury test was successful.

The drone taxi is 3.9m long, 3.7m wide, and 1.3m high, and is equipped with a propulsion device, autonomous flight, and software that controls flight through GPS information. The aircraft was developed by the corporate judicial corporation, CARTIVATOR Resource Management, and the NEC participated in the council and supported it as a cartivator sponsor.

This flight is also the first demonstration flight of a drone taxi in which a large Japanese company participated. Cartivator said it is expected to enter mass production by 2026. The project aims to start in 2023, and from the 2030s, it is drawing a blueprint to expand for practical use. Related information can be found here .
