Amazon announced the introduction of a cash option for shopping mall payments. Product buyers who want cash, not card, can select Paycode when their order is confirmed, receive a QR code, and pay with Western Union, a financial institution within 24 hours. If you wish to cancel, you can also refund at Western Union.
Amazon and Western Union introduced the Paycode structure earlier this year and made it available in 19 countries around the world, where cash payments are the mainstream over credit and debit cards. According to Amazon, 80% of Americans live within 8 kilometers of the nearest Western Union. Paycode begins September 18 in the United States and runs in the United States for several weeks. Amazon explains that many people find it more convenient to pay in cash, and by offering more payment options, customers will be able to choose the payment method that suits them.
Amazon expects the introduction of Paycode to be a potential rich vehicle for customers who shop in physical stores rather than in Internet shopping malls. However, for those who cannot print the QR code required for Western Union payment or do not have a smartphone, this may not be a practical payment method either.
According to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, 77% of payments in the U.S. in 2018 were made face-to-face, and 39% of them were paid in cash. Many say they don’t even have their own bank account, let alone a credit card. Amazon Go, which uses groceries and the like, originally assumed cashless payments, but began to support cash payments from this spring. Amazon Cash will be available at Western Union over 100,000 locations nationwide. Related information can be found here .
