AI predicts 99.6% of epileptic seizures?

A research team at the University of Louisiana in the United States has developed an AI model that can detect an epileptic seizure with a high probability of 99.6% an hour ago. Using this, patients can take action, such as taking medications, for unpredictable seizures such as at night.

There are currently 50 million people with epilepsy worldwide. Of these, 70% are said to be controlling seizures with drugs. The research team is using it for prediction, along with other algorithms that measure patient brain waves to map activity situations and predict seizure-related situations through AI.

Although there is still a long way to go to practical use, the research team is trying to develop a chip that can utilize the algorithm. If commercialization is made, it is expected that patients with epilepsy could relieve the anxiety they feel in their daily lives. Related information can be found here .

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
