Not Tonight is a game that satirizes Brexit, the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. The release of the Nintendo Switch version has been postponed, and this game will be released according to the Brexit deadline delayed again to October 31, not for another reason.
Not Today was released for Windows last August. It is already sold through Steam, a PC game platform. The stage of the game is another UK dominated by a new far-right regime as the EU exit negotiations broke down. It deals with the virtual world where European citizens are arrested and deported.
The gamer is a European citizen and works as a bodyguard for one year. Stand at the door of bars, clubs, festivals and party venues, check the customer’s ID card, check for age, false information, and photos, and manage guest lists. You earn money and upgrade your apartment, clothes, and equipment. Sometimes you can take bribes, but instead you risk losing your social credit score. When this score reaches zero, it is forcibly repatriated.
You can also take a political position or work, such as participating in the resistance and fighting against the far-right regime. In addition to anti-government activities, health levels are depleted when living standards are too low. Maintaining this balance is the key to this game. Related information can be found here .
