Dutch startup Pal-V will launch a flying car in 2021. Two models are scheduled to be sold (PAL-V Liberty Executive Edition, PAL-V Liberty Sport Edition). It is a two-seater and has a top speed of 160 km/h and can fly at 320 km/h in the sky.
According to Pal-V, the interior is all leather and has dual engines. In addition, safety is also approved by the European Aviation Safety Organization EASA and the US Federal Aviation Administration FAA in the autogyro category, which is a rotary wing aircraft under the Aviation Act. So legally it can fly all over the world. Even in bad weather conditions that are not suitable for flight, it can transform into a car and drive on land, thereby enhancing safety.
One of the advantages is that there is no need for infrastructure introduction or maintenance as refueling at gas stations and no special facilities are required for takeoff and landing. It is easy to have a place with an area of 30m at a speed of 30km/h without an engine. However, both ground and air traffic regulations must be observed.
The more worrisome thing is the licensing. It is said that it will prepare the official flight school and course to acquire a special license to a level higher than the driver’s license. It is said that PalV has already ordered 70 engines. PalV complies with aviation laws and is confident that there is no problem as it meets the safety standards that make it possible to fly worldwide.
The selling price of PalV is 499,000 euros. Related information can be found here .
