YouTuber Theremin Hero has created a rotating LED cube that plays the evil castle Dracula.
For this, we prepared six finished displays of Adafruit. The display displays images through color LEDs in each 64×64 array. The resolution on each side is 4,000 pixels, which is considerably lower than that of a CRT. To compensate for the limited resolution, we devised to illuminate the game on four screens like a huge monitor, and a 3D printer outputs a skeleton that makes four displays square. It is placed on an electric rotating table so that the speed can be controlled with a foot pedal. This way, you can handle the controller with both hands during the game.
The developer converted Devil’s Dracula into a JavaScript-based NES emulator to calculate the position of each stage, allowing the emulator to control the offset of the steps displayed by screen. The developer, of course, plans to continue renovating the cube to rotate automatically while tracking the position of the character on the stage. Related information can be found here .
