It turns out that Facebook has removed the ability to register for messengers without a Facebook account.
It was announced quietly at the official help center, but foreign media contacted the company to confirm the fact. In June 2015, Facebook made it possible to create a messenger account without a Facebook account. When signing up, simply enter your name and phone number, and you can use it as a universal service beyond the Facebook platform.
However, as an answer to the FAQ about whether you can register for messenger without a Facebook account, you need to create a Facebook account to use Messenger. Facebook says that most users who want to use messenger are already logged in to Facebook, explaining that it is a measure to simplify the process.
