Solar GENNY is a solar cell water maker introduced by Israeli startup Watergen.
This product is a water filter that separates water from the air through a temperature difference using solar cells as an energy source. Since only sunlight can generate water in places where there is no electricity, it can be useful in securing drinking water in undeveloped and damaged areas.
To operate the Solar Jenny, four 70cm solar panels are used. The cost of installing one unit ranges from 5,000 to 8,000 dollars. For disaster relief purposes, depending on the situation, it may be better to buy and send water and food with this money.
If there is no Suwon in an undeveloped area, Solar Jenny may be a valid product. Since only air and the sun can produce 13 liters of drinking water per day, if you use it permanently, it will be better for the environment than at least PET bottled drinks and will be able to recover the installation cost.
Watergen also has a product called GENNY that uses outlet power instead of solar cells. It can be used as a water server at home, school, or office. It is said that a product that uses power produces 27 liters of water a day, and has an air cleaning effect that removes dust from the air while generating water.
