The fourth trillion dollar company is the alphabet, and what’s next

Google parent company Alphabet has been named the fourth U.S. company to reach a market cap of $1 trillion. Traded at $1,451.70 per share just before the close of the market on January 16, 2020 (local time).

The alphabet was born in August 2015. It was created to reorganize the service sector of Google, which was spreading at the time. When Alphabet was launched, Google’s stock price was about $633 per share. However, in December 2019, Google founder and CEO of Alphabet, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, announced their retirement together, and Alphabet’s successor CEO Sundar Pichai took office.

Although there were reorganizations and retirement of the founder, Alphabet increased its share price smoothly and finally reached a market cap of $1 trillion. These alphabets are scheduled to announce last year’s fourth quarter results on February 3, 2020. Analysts predict sales of $46.9 billion, up 20% year over year.

As mentioned earlier, the alphabet is the fourth in the US company that has reached a market cap of $1 trillion. The first company to reach $1 trillion was Apple in August 2018. A month later, Amazon reached a market cap of $1 trillion, and Microsoft became a $1 trillion company in April 2019.

In addition, China Petroleum Natural Gas, a Chinese oil company, reached a market capitalization of $1 trillion for the first time in the world. In addition, Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil company in Saudi Arabia, reached a market cap of $2 trillion in December 2019. The industry is referring to Facebook as a company that is expected to reach the next market capitalization of $1 trillion. Related information can be found here .
