Israeli company Boeing joins forces to develop VTOL

Boeing has signed a new contract with Tactical Robotics based in Israel. The contract is to jointly promote the development, production, and marketing of vertical takeoff and landing aircraft VTOL based on Tactical Robotics’ Fancraft rotor storage technology.

Tactical Robotics has already completed the development of a self-driving airplane (Cormorant) under Urban Aeronautics. It looks like a multi-purpose military vehicle, but can take off and land vertically using the Pancraft rotor. Unlike an open rotor, it is placed in a duct and is excellent in terms of airflow guidance and safety for people around the gas. In the contract between the two companies, it starts by reviewing the production and sales of comorrent, which assumes new methods of use such as disaster response.

The comprehensive agreement between the two sides can be said to have a wide range of possibilities, but even the research and development of autonomous VTOL aircraft is in sight. This contract is one of the examples of how the VTOL industry is getting hotter in terms of alliances, investments and commercialization.

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
