Volkswagen created eGon, a skeletal model for an easy-to-understand view of the structure of an electric vehicle.
This product, which will be exhibited at the IdeenExpo, which will be held in Hannover, Germany, on June 15th, is an EV e-Golf based on the popular car model Golf. Here, the body panel was removed, and the skeleton and components necessary for driving were mounted. You can see the structure of the electric vehicle.
Models on display at the fair often render the structure inoperable instead of visualizing it, but eGon can be designed to work and actually run the necessary parts. eGon not only conveys the structure to the exhibition visitors in an easy-to-understand manner, but also allows them to know their role by scanning the QR code attached to some parts with a smartphone.
eGon was created by a student who participated in Volkswagen’s vocational training program. Since it was produced by eight students from eight fields, it is expected to play a role in conveying to children the structure of a car without an internal combustion engine that will become mainstream in the future.
