Mike Schulz, a former snowmobile pro player, had to amputate his left leg below the knee in an accident in 2008. However, he did not give in to this, and made a prosthetic leg that he designed himself based on mechanisms such as a bicycle frame and suspension, and participated in the Paralympic Games as a snowboarder and won gold and silver medals in 2018.
He wore a prosthetic leg after 5 weeks of Saro, but felt uncomfortable and designed it himself. After 7 months, he returned to the racing game and tried snowboarding while wearing a prosthetic leg. In the end, he thought that the prosthetic leg he made would help others, and he founded a company called BioDapt.
Biodapt introduced products such as the Moto Knee, which has a moving part from the knee to the shin and a suspension, and the VF2, which is the lower part of the ankle with a similar mechanism. They all have the strength to withstand extreme sports and can be used for a variety of purposes with advanced adjustment features. If necessary, it can be customized and can be combined with other manufacturers’ prosthetic feet. Related information can be found here .
