“This piece of furniture… ”A robot cleaner capable of AI image recognition

Lucy is a robot cleaner introduced by American manufacturer Trifo. This product is equipped with a camera and AI. Thanks to this, it is possible to recognize and avoid obstacles 1 inch from the floor, or 2.54 cm high. There was a hot topic that the robot cleaner couldn’t properly recognize the stool of a pet, and the house became a mess, but Lucy can avoid it by recognizing it.

Lucy can recognize small obstacles, so she can clean while avoiding slippers, lego blocks, and books. Another advantage is that the built-in camera is equipped with a depth sensor that can detect objects or obstacles with minimal light, so it can monitor the surroundings at 1080p resolution even at night. The ability to measure distances and map rooms has been enhanced, reducing battery waste and cleaning efficiently, such as once cleaned locations never come again.

The product can also recognize furniture through AI image recognition and automatically label rooms based on furniture detected by a robot cleaner. Thanks to this, users can use mobile apps and Amazon Alexa to designate rooms they want to clean or rooms they don’t want to clean. In addition, the built-in battery can be used continuously for up to 120 minutes at 5,200mAh.

It is priced at $800 and will be released this year. Related information can be found here .
