BML500P is a smart glasses technology equipped with augmented reality technology that Bosch targets for Google Glass. It is a technology that draws an image directly on the retina rather than projecting an image on the eyeglass lens.

The technology was announced by Bosch during CES 2020, but during CES it was still a prototype, so the design was crude. When you see the video, if you wear glasses, the navigation display is displayed in front of your eyes without the need to check your smartphone in a 200m front right direction. Unlike magic leaf that displays animation on the front of the screen, Bosch smart glasses display at least useful information, and the display disappears when the position of the glasses is changed slightly. Bosch Smart Glass uses a MEMS mirror array to pass the red, blue, and green tricolor laser through the holographic optical element contained in the right lens. When this light is reflected off the eye, an image is drawn directly onto the retina. Since this structure becomes the point of smart glass and draws an augmented reality image directly on the retina, the image is always in focus, and the image is not blurred even if the focus is moved when viewed from a distance or closer. While a person can measure the distance to the object in the state of focus when looking at the object, the focus is always on the view illuminated by the smart glass, so the brain can grasp that the mark is at the same distance as the subject in front of the eye. In addition, humans can get a sense of where an object is through both eyes, but because Bosch Smart Glass only shines on one eye, it becomes difficult for the brain to grasp the distance to the reflected mark. As a result, it completes a view that looks like an image popping out in front of you.
