SpaceX, contracted by space travel agency, will orbital travel begin in 2021?

SpaceX has signed a contract with Space Adventures, which organizes space travel to load civilians on the spacecraft Crew Dragon.

Space Adventures is a space travel agency with a track record of sending civilians to the international space station ISS since 2001. According to the plan, tourists at Space Adventures will be able to train for weeks in the United States, board a crew dragon at Cape Canaveral in Florida, and enjoy a five-day orbit tour. The Crew Dragon reaches a higher orbit than the ISS, and in some cases can reach places that humanity has not reached in the past 50 years. However, it does not anchor at the International Space Station. Space Adventures co-founder Eric Anderson said the company will create unique and previously impossible opportunities for civilians to experience space.

Although SpaceX’s Crew Dragon has not yet been able to fly in manned space, it has successfully docked the ISS through unmanned launch and has also completed a capsule departure test that assumed a problem when launching. Around May, the first pilot boarding launch test is also scheduled.

According to the contract, space travel using the crew dragon is planned to begin in late 2021 to 2022, and a maximum of four people can ride. Related information can be found here .
