Amazon unveils the first fully-electric car, “also built in Alexa”

Amazon announced that it has received the delivery of its first custom EV delivery van, which it has made in partnership with electric vehicle startup Rivian. It’s not that different from traditional traditional fuel and hybrid commercial delivery vans, but most of the technological innovation is out of sight.

This product features a sensor-based highway driving and traffic assistance function, an external camera that can provide a 360-degree field of view to the driver through a digital display, a large interior floor area that can move between the driver and the luggage compartment, and a surround tail light to increase brake visibility. Equipped with a back. In addition, it features customizable features such as integrating an Alexa voice assistant.

Amazon participated in the 2019 Rivian $700 million investment round and announced an order for 100,000 custom electric delivery vans in September 2019. In addition to these commercial vehicles, Livian plans to produce and ship electric pickups and SUVs.

Amazon is planning to introduce a fully electric vehicle, with 10,000 custom vans running on the road around the world within the next two years, expanding to 100,000 by 2030. Rivian is expected to begin operation of the Illinois plant’s pilot production line and begin shipping in August 2021. Related information can be found here .
