U.S. government demands Google to submit data regarding antitrust violations

The U.S. government has asked Google to submit data for search results and related advertisements in the U.S. for a certain period of time. Google is poised to debate, but is opposed to submitting data, saying it is too broad and a potential privilege.

This data claim relates to a lawsuit filed against the U.S. Department of Justice and 11 state Attorney Generals for antitrust violations in October 2020. Also, in December 2020, suspicion that Google had colluded with Facebook also emerged. Jedi Blue is accused of collusion between Google and Facebook. Ten prosecutors general are appealing that Google and Facebook, the two largest online advertising companies, have strengthened their market dominance.

The U.S. Department of Justice and some state attorney generals have bid for Google parent company Alphabet, from February 2 to February 8, 2015, and from February 3 to February 9, 2020 for search engine data, advertising volume and revenue, and bidding. We asked for data on the amount to be submitted within 30 days.

According to reports, the lawsuit in December of the same year as October 2020 occurred during the Trump administration, but this data claim is said to have been made under the Biden administration. Even after becoming the Biden regime, the check against Google continues to be strong.

Google claims that the data billed in response to the US Department of Justice’s request for data submission is overly broad, claiming that the claim is a potential privilege, and that Google is opposed to submitting data and says it can prepare to discuss the issue.
