Toronto launches 8-seater autonomous shuttle test run

The city of Toronto, Canada, announced that it signed a contract with Local Motors to open the self-driving shuttle Olli 2.0 to passengers starting in the spring of 2021 and to start piloting autonomous shuttle buses.

The pilot operation is jointly conducted with the transportation company Pacific Western Transportation (PWT), and during the period, two resident employees, the PWT operator, and Toronto Transportation Authority or Pacific Western Transportation customer service representatives will participate. Metrorings is a railroad company that handles most of Toronto’s commuter transport services.

The Ollie 2.0 can accommodate up to eight people at a time and has accessibility features such as wheelchair ramps and fixed points.
