Microsoft Azure Space announced “Data center to satellite Internet… ”

Microsoft has announced that it will launch its satellite communications service business, Azure Space, following Azure Orbital, a service that can transfer data from satellites to the cloud. Azure Space is connected to Starlink, an internet access service using SpaceX satellites.

To this end, Microsoft plans to work with SpaceX to provide access to cloud and data centers from anywhere in the world via Starlink. The Azure Modular Datacenter, MDC, is used for Azure Space. MDC containerized data centers so that people who want to use cloud computing are not necessarily in places with network networks.

Thanks to this, it is designed to withstand difficult environments, and Microsoft Azure services can be used from any remote location. MDC says that SpaceX Starlink is a satellite Internet service that covers the world, so it will be possible to provide a connection with a low latency no matter what remote location MDC is installed in the future. In addition, as similar efforts are already underway on Amazon, competition between Microsoft and Space X camps and Amazon camps is expected to accelerate. Related information can be found here .

I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
