Acer Chromebook with Ryzen Mobile

Acer announced the Spin 514, a Chromebook equipped with its first AMD Ryzen Mobile on January 7 (local time).

Acer has released a Chromebook equipped with an AMD chip so far, but this is the first time that a Ryzen Mobile has been installed. The lineup is Ryzen 7 3700C and Ryzen 5 3500C.

The Ryzen 3000C series is a CPU for Zen-based Chromebooks announced by AMD in September 2020. The Ryzen 7 3700C has improved graphics performance by up to 251% and productivity by 104% compared to the AMD A6-9220C, the previous generation Chromebook CPU.

Equipped with such a Ryzen Mobile, the Spin 514 is a 2in1 convertible type that can rotate the back of the display. The GPU is Ryzen Vega, the memory is up to 16GB, the storage space is up to 256GB, and the battery life is up to 10 hours. The display is a 14-inch full HD touch-compatible, with 78% of the screen share, and has durability that meets MIL standards, so it can withstand a 122cm drop and up to 60kg pressure.

The interface is equipped with 2 USB Type C, 2 USB 3.2 Gen1, microSD, and HDMI terminal. It is released in the US in February for $480, and in Europe in March it costs €529. Related information can be found here .
