MediaTek announced the Dimension 1200 and 1100. It is a SoC that uses 6nm manufacturing process, supports 5G communication, and enhances AI processing performance.
Dimension 1200 has 4 Cortex-A78 cores and 4 Cortex-A55 cores. In the case of the Cortex-A78, one drives at 3GHz and the other three at 2.6GHz. Through this, this product increases CPU performance by 22% and power saving performance by 25% compared to the previous generation model. In addition, the Dimension 1100 has all four Cortex-A78s running at 2.6GHz.
In addition, in recent smartphones, products that appeal to high-speed screen operation are increasing. In line with this demand, Dimension 1200 supports 168Hz, Dimension 1100 supports 144Hz refresh rate, and is also responding to ray tracing technology.
The maximum number of pixels of the image sensor is 200 million pixels and 108 million pixels, respectively, corresponding to 4K HDR video shooting. Both processors support Bluetooth 5.2 and LC3, a wireless audio codec.
Products equipped with Dimension 1200 and 1100 will be introduced to Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo in China, and the first products will appear in the market at the end of the first quarter of 2021 and the beginning of the second quarter.
