TikTok started supporting automatic subtitle generation function

TikTok announced the introduction of an automatic caption function, a new feature that makes it easier for hearing impaired to enjoy TikTok.

Until now, TikTok had to be manually registered by the creator as needed, rather than an automatic subtitle creation function. However, after uploading a video with the introduction of a new feature, if you select Auto Caption on the edit page, the subtitle will be displayed on the video. In addition, the created subtitles can be modified by the creator. Of course, viewers can also turn off subtitles.

Of course, like YouTube, the subtitles are not automatically loaded when watching, regardless of the video, but are provided as an option on the creator side for the last time. Therefore, if the author makes it invalid, subtitles cannot be used, but if automatic generation is possible, the number of users may increase.

The TikTok automatic caption function first supports English and Japanese, and other languages are expected to be supported in the coming months. Related information can be found here.
