Revolve Air is a wheelchair that can be transported compactly by folding the wheel like an American football ball and covering it with a chair. Thanks to this, tire space is reduced, making it easier to carry, and it can be stored in a car seat or in an airplane luggage compartment. When folded, it is said to be less than 60% larger than when unfolded.
The 24-inch tire used in this product does not have any problem even when folded into airless. There is no need to leave a wheelchair before boarding at the airport, and in the city center, there is no need to struggle with entering and exiting the car cargo compartment. The developer says the wheelchair is being tested and is looking for a business partner to produce it. It expects to offer it to users at a low price, but it is estimated that it will appear at around 2,000 euros after 2022. Although it can be expensive as a personal purchase, prototype systems are also being made that make reservations and rent them with smartphones at airports and stations.
