NASA made it clear that it would postpone the first flight of the Mars helicopter Ingenuity from April 11 to 14, when it was originally scheduled. During the rotor high-speed rotation test conducted on April 10th, an early termination problem occurred in the order of instruction.
The helicopter went well up to Pre-Flight mode, but when switching from here to flight mode, a watchdog timer that monitored the computer to continue processing was exceeded, causing a reset. However, in terms of hardware, telemetry information has been completely transmitted without any problem.
In the first flight plan, the helicopter is expected to float up to 3m above the ground and swim for 30 seconds. Ingenuity plans to fly 4 times in a month. This test is the first attempt by an aircraft to fly over the surface of Mars. This success will be marked as the opening of an era of planetary exploration in the sky.
