For data centers, such as Neoverse V1, which is the first semiconductor company ARM supports SVE2 (Scalable. Vector Extension 2), and Neoverse N2, which is the first to support Armv9, a new instruction architecture introduced in March 2021. Two new CPUs were announced.
Neovers is the first ARM CPU design for data centers announced by ARM at the 2018 Engineer Event. As of 2018, ARM introduced products every year, and each time, 30% performance improvement and new features were in progress.
The Neoverse V1 is the first CPU design in the V series that did not exist until now, and is compatible with Armv8 and SVE2. It is said to have improved high-performance computing and machine learning workloads by more than 50% compared to the Neovers N1, which is adopted in Graviton 2, which accounts for 49% of Amazon EC2 newly added instances.
The N1 successor, the Neovers N2, is the first CPU design to support Armv9, which appeared in March 2021, and supports SVE2 up to 128 bits. At the same power, you can achieve a 40% performance improvement over a variety of workloads over the N1.
ARM specifies the timing of product samples equipped with Neovers V1 and N2 as 2021, so the product itself is expected to enter the market after 2022. Related information can be found here.
