SpaceX launches moon satellite launch mission with Dogecoin

SpaceX has signed a contract with Canadian technology technology Geometric Energy Corporation and announced that it will send a CubeSat satellite called DOGE-1 into the lunar orbit in the first quarter of 2022. As the name implies, this satellite is said to be the first commercial month payload to be raised with DogeCoin with all funds.

CubeSat is a small satellite that weighs only a few kilograms. SpaceX says the mission will establish an interplanetary commercial base that proves the possibility of using cryptocurrency in outer space. In terms of science, the Moon spatial information is collected by combining the Doji-1 mounted camera and sensor. There is no detailed explanation of what the cryptocurrency will be linked to here. However, Geometric said it will use Dogecoin for funds when performing missions in the future.

For CEO Elon Musk and SpaceX and Geometrics, who recently identified themselves as DogeFather and over-promoted Dogecoin along with Bitcoin, this mission can be said to have a strong promotional nature. However, it could be a new aspect to bring to the field of civil aviation, and SpaceX’s interest in the moon appears to be stronger than government contracts and space tourism.

For reference, it may have been a mistake that the price of Dogecoin fell shortly after Elon Musk explained about Dogecoin in a conversation while appearing as an MC on the popular American program Saturday Night Live, jokingly saying that this was a scam. Related information can be found here.
